Do product variants each need their own barcode?
Yes, the barcode field exists at the variant level so the exact size, colour or pack can be scanned, not just the parent product.
Can I generate barcodes if products don’t already have one?
A shop can assign barcodes manually per product or bring existing manufacturer barcodes in through a bulk import file.
How does barcode scanning speed up picking?
Scan-to-pick-all lets a picker confirm every line item in an order by scanning in sequence, which is faster and less error-prone than searching and tapping each product.
Does barcode data also feed the HSN code and unit label?
They are stored as separate fields on the same product record, so an import file that carries barcode, HSN code and unit together updates all three in one pass instead of three separate edits.
