The pick queue that keeps a picker moving

A picker scans a barcode to pick an item, marks it picked, short or out of stock, offers a substitution the customer approves from their phone, and hands the order to a driver — all from one app.

The pick queue

The pick queue

Scan, mark, move to the next item

Every order in the queue lists its items with a barcode target. A picker scans, the app marks the item picked, and a short-pick or out-of-stock item is flagged for a substitution instead of stalling the order.

  • Barcode scan-to-pick against the order line items
  • Mark an item picked, short or out of stock
  • Pick queue ordered by slot time and priority
  • Browse products by category to find an item manually if a barcode is missing

Customer-approved

Customer-approved

A substitute the customer picks, not you

An out-of-stock item opens recommended, related and all-products tabs. The picker suggests one, the customer approves it from their phone, and the substitution is recorded against the order item.

  • Recommended, related and all-products tabs for finding a substitute
  • The customer approves the substitution from their own phone
  • The substitution is recorded on the order item for the record
  • No substitute approved — the item is simply removed, not guessed

After picking

After picking

Mark preparing, assign a driver, reschedule

Once picking is complete the picker marks the order preparing, assigns a delivery agent, or reschedules the slot if the customer is not ready — with push notifications carrying editable templates at every step.

  • Mark an order preparing once every item is picked or substituted
  • Assign a delivery agent directly from the picker app
  • Reschedule a slot without cancelling the order
  • Cancel with a reason, logged against the order

Packing

Packing

A label that matches the order it is stuck to

A packing label prints with the order number, item count, delivery slot and driver, so a bag never leaves the floor without knowing exactly where it belongs.

  • Packing label per order, printed at the end of picking
  • Carries order number, item count, slot and assigned driver
  • Prints on the same thermal printers used for KOT and receipts
  • Matches the order shown in the delivery app

FAQ

Questions about Pickers

Who chooses a substitute item — the picker or the customer?
The picker suggests one from the recommended, related or all-products tabs, but the customer has to approve it from their phone before it is added.
What happens if the customer does not approve a substitute?
The item is removed from the order rather than being guessed or force-substituted.
Can a picker assign a driver directly?
Yes, once picking is complete the picker app can assign a delivery agent without going back to a dispatcher.
Does the packing label print automatically?
It prints at the end of picking, on the same thermal printer used for kitchen tickets and receipts.
What platform does the picker app run on?
Android and iOS.
