Cash on delivery with order limits and OTP checks

Cash on delivery sits in checkout like any gateway, with COD order limits and an OTP code on every plan. The limits decide which orders can be paid in cash, and the code confirms the customer’s phone first. From Growth, a blocklist and a customer risk score help your team decide which cash orders to accept.

How it works

How it works

  1. 1

    Shopper selects COD

Cash on delivery sits in the checkout payment list alongside every gateway.

  2. 2

    Limits are checked

Cash is offered only when the order sits inside the COD limits you set.

  3. 3

    Customer confirms with an OTP

A one-time code by SMS or WhatsApp confirms the phone number before the order is accepted.

  4. 4

    Risk check (Growth)

Blocklisted customers cannot pick cash, and each customer carries a risk score your team can see.

  5. 5

Cash is collected at the door

The driver takes payment on delivery and it feeds straight into cash reconciliation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which plan includes the COD checks?
COD order limits and the OTP code are on every plan. The blocklist and the customer risk score start on Growth.
Will this stop every refused cash order?
No tool can promise that. The checks reduce the risk: the OTP confirms a real phone number, limits cap what you send out on cash, and from Growth the blocklist and risk score keep repeat problems away.
Why does cash on delivery still matter in the Gulf?
Many grocery and quick-commerce shoppers across the GCC still prefer to pay at the door, so COD sits alongside card and BNPL as a standard checkout option, not an edge case.
Who pays for the OTP messages?
You pay your own SMS or WhatsApp provider directly. We do not resell messages.
Can a customer switch from COD to card at the door?
Yes, the delivery app lets a driver switch an order between cash and card on delivery on arrival if the customer changes their mind.
