Multi-currency prices and checkout

Multi-currency shows shoppers your prices in their own currency and, on supported gateways, charges them in it. You choose the currencies, set each exchange rate yourself with optional markup and rounding, and can fix exact prices and coupons per currency. Every order keeps the currency and rate it was placed at. Multi-currency comes with Growth and above.

How it works

How it works

  1. 1

    Add currencies

Pick the currencies you sell in. Rates for currencies pegged to the dollar are pre-filled for you to confirm.

  2. 2

    Set the rate

You set each rate, with an optional markup and rounding. The panel shows how old each rate is.

  3. 3

    Shoppers pick theirs

A currency switcher on the store, with an optional default by the shopper’s country.

  4. 4

    Charge in that currency

On Stripe, Checkout.com and Tap the customer pays in their currency; other gateways show the converted price and charge in your shop currency.

Configuration

What you can configure

SettingWhat it does
RatesSet by you for each currency, with an optional markup and rounding (none, .99, .95, whole number, nearest 5 or 10). There is no automatic exchange-rate feed.
Fixed prices per currencyFix a product’s price in a currency (also by CSV) and set coupon amounts per currency.
ChargingIn the shopper’s currency on Stripe, Checkout.com and Tap (card payment on the page), with the rate held for 30 minutes and refunds in the currency paid. Other gateways, cash on delivery, wallet, gift cards and pay links use your shop currency.
Orders and reportsEach order stores the currency and the rate it was placed at. Search results, product feeds and ads stay in your shop currency.
Saudi shops on ZATCACan show other currencies, but charge in SAR for now.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which plan includes multi-currency?
Growth and above.
Do exchange rates update on their own?
No, you set them, so the price a shopper sees never moves without you. The panel reminds you when a rate is over 30 days old.
What do my tax invoices show?
The amounts in the currency paid and the rate you set for that order. Where the law asks for an official daily rate, setting it is your responsibility.
Does this work in the mobile apps too?
For now it runs on the online store. The customer apps have not been updated for it yet, so shoppers using the app will not see it until they are.
