Custom fields for products, checkout and customers

Custom fields let you add your own typed details to products, variants, orders and customers: a fabric, a warranty period, an expiry date, a gift message at checkout. Product fields can show on the product page and work as storefront filters, checkout fields collect what you need from the shopper, and every value travels into invoices, exports, the API and webhooks. Custom fields come with Growth and above.

How it works

How it works

  1. 1

    Define a field

Pick where it lives (product, variant, order or customer), its type and its label in English and Arabic.

  2. 2

    Fill in the values

On the product form, the variants page, the order or the customer, or in bulk.

  3. 3

    Show it on the store

Visible product fields appear on the product page as specifications, in every theme; filterable ones become storefront filters with counts.

  4. 4

    Ask at checkout

Checkout fields sit in the contact, delivery or order step, optional or required, including a file upload.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which plan includes custom fields?
Growth and above. The number of fields, filterable fields and checkout fields grows with the plan.
Can a checkout field be required?
Yes, on the online store. Orders your staff take at the till or in the panel are not blocked by it.
Can I change a field type later?
Only to a type the existing values convert to safely, with a dry run first. A field you remove is archived before it is deleted.
Does this work in the mobile apps too?
For now it runs on the online store. The customer apps have not been updated for it yet, so shoppers using the app will not see it until they are.
